I Just Could not Leave Her Behind!
A friend of mine is permanently relocating to another state. She had an Estate Sale recently and while I was browsing I spotted a sewing machine case on the driveway. The case was quite dirty and appeared to have been stored, probably in a shed, for quite a while. The price tag was $5.00. I peeked inside the case and the machine looked fairly clean. For five dollars, how could I leave such a pretty, unloved machine behind? After all she’s PINK!
I brought her home, cleaned and oiled her, and found out that she runs just like new. Sadly, she has only one cam, but it is for the zigzag stitch, so I am happy about that. I can do all the fancy stitches I need on my Brother machines. My internet search tells me that she came into being around the late 80’s, but I cannot seem to find her serial number anywhere, not even on the Singer site. Oh well, she is pretty, runs well, and did I say it? PINK! (Oh, and I love the little heart drawn on the side of her base!)

Rehoming
We live in a older manufactured home. Our “Master Suite” is pretty roomy and accommodates a king sized bed easily. The other bedroom, however is very small. When we bought our house the second bedroom barely accommodated a twin sized bed.
I decided that since all of our overnight company would be at least two people at a time the tiny bedroom was useless for company. I chose to rehome the twin bed and convert the room to my sewing and craft room. I bought a hide-a-bed couch with a queen sized bed in it for our living room. Our three comfy recliners can also be used for sleeping in a pinch.
Even without a bed in it the bedroom is still tiny and I am constantly looking for ways to store my precious sewing supplies. Well, today on my way to an exercise class I noticed a metal rack that had been set out for the recycling.
Free To A Good Home
In our little community, usable but unwanted items are put out next to the street. Invariably, someone will come along and claim them. We bought a smaller wheelbarrow because this behemoth was too much for me to handle. Mr. M made the cute little sign and put it next to the street. When we got up the next day, sure enough, it was gone. I hope it has a good new home!
