When The Cows Come Home

Posted on Updated on

I am a frugal woman. I have even been called a cheapskate by a man trying to sell me a timeshare. I am very creative when it comes to looking at something and thinking “what else can I use this for?”. Our home is relatively small and I try to make things serve more than one purpose.

One day I was laying out a sewing pattern on my dining room table. It had a lot of pieces. I only have six pattern weights. (They were a thank you gift from a dear friend for sewing some scrubs for her. ) Six pattern weights don’t go very far for a complex sewing pattern. I looked into my hutch and I saw these:

A lovely gift from my older daughter. They are not only adorable but they are boxes, AND they are made of metal. Heavy metal. Perfect for holding down my patterns.

If you would like to have more information about these whimsical cows here is the website: http://www.cowparade.com .  (NOT an affiliate link! I just think they are cute and you might want some information about what they represent.)

Now, I ask you: what can be more fun than cows helping me sew?

Those are too cute! You taught me well; I have literally haggled the prices from the clearance rack at the thrift store….
