One of my favorite stops at the Souk

Posted on Updated on

Last year we visited Morocco and during our stay we went to a Souk, which is very much like the “Swami” we frequented in Mexico; a sort of community marketplace. In the Souk there were a lot of little shops with all sorts of merchandise. Being a cook, I was very interested in the Berber spice merchant. Yes, I did have a lot of fun buying traditional Moroccan spices!

I just adore the way he has displayed his bulk spices and the tidy jars lining the walls. I have seen photos of Moroccan spice shops, but seeing the real thing was an unique experience! Not only was it fun to look at but the fragrance was out of this world!
